Taking the Mystery out of Parking Garage Maintenance: Operators and owners are in their parking structures every day, but are they looking at how to properly maintain them to extend the lifecycle of these valuable assets? Jon Shugg and Steven Kopelman will address this and more tactics to help owners and operators understand the types of parking structures, causes of deterioration, how to develop a plan for long-term proactive maintenance, understand the consequences of deferral, and the simple steps to improve overall health of the garage.

Steven Kopelman (StructureCare)

Steven Kopelman joined StructureCare in November of 2023 as the Client Services Manager based in Richmond, VA working with clients in Southern Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Prior to joining StructureCare, He spent 12 years as a General Manager and Regional Manager in the parking industry with Colonial Parking in Washington, DC and SP Plus in New York City. He has a passion for helping others and takes a client first approach. He enjoys working with his customers to understand their needs and how StructureCare can best help and provide immediate and long-term solutions. During his free time, he enjoys spending time cooking with his girlfriend Liz, exploring Richmond and all its great restaurants and traveling. 

Jon Shugg (StructureCare)

As the Southeast Region General Manager for StructureCare, Jon Shugg leads a dynamic team of structural engineers and construction professionals dedicated to addressing clients' parking garage maintenance and restoration needs. His passion for problem-solving and team building has played a pivotal role in the company's nationwide growth.

He currently serves on the Mid-Atlantic Parking Association’s Board of Directors, leveraging his expertise in garage maintenance to contribute to the industry's development.

Outside of the office, he unwinds by golfing, fishing, traveling, and hiking with his fiancée, Lexi, and Australian Shepherd, Maverick. 


 

This conference offers up to 7 CAPP Points towards application and the maximum in Program Type 2 for recertification.
